Washing

Prewash your diapers at least once prior to use, to remove any traces of manufacturing residues. No need to wash multiple times, simply change more frequently for the first few wears as diapers will gain maximum absorbency after 4-5 washes.

To wash your diapers, dry-pailing is recommended: simply remove any solids into the toilet and place the diaper into a bucket or wetbag until you have enough for a load, but don’t leave diapers for more than 48 hours. Should you notice the diapers have a very strong ammonia smell, which occasionally happens when baby is teething and with night diapers, rinse the diapers before placing them in the bucket, as prolonged contact with strong urine can reduce the lifespan of your diapers.

For best results, do a cold water rinse cycle first, then a standard cold, warm or hot cycle (30/40/60) with NO fabric softener, some people like to do an extra rinse at the end. You can use washing powder specifically designed for diapers, such as Rockin Green, if you use regular laundry powder, only use half the recommended amount to avoid build up and reduced absorbency.

There is no need to soak or use bleach/sanitising products, as they can irritate sensitive skins and reduce the life of the elastic in your diapers. Soaker pads can be soaked if you deem necessary, please make sure you do an extra rinse.

Diapers can be tumble dried on low or line dried. Should you have any stains remaining after washing: a short time in the sun will naturally bleach them.

If using a Snap on Mini Booster: these usually stay on during the wash, although you may wish to unsnap one end to aid drying time. Soaker pads in bitti d’lish Snap in One and bitti tutto should be removed prior to washing to avoid extra stress on the snaps.

Please do not hang the bitti D'Lish All In One by the flap booster, as it will cause unnecessary stress to the seam where it is sewn in.

Assembly

To assemble diapers with snap in parts, simply match the coloured snaps of the soakers with the coloured snaps of the outer ‘shell’. For bitti d’lish Snap in One and bitti boo, fold the rectangular soaker along the fold lines and slip this under the hourglass shaped soaker – you may need to stretch the shell out slightly to get it to fit neatly under. The outer ‘shell’ of the bitti d’lish Snap in One and bitti tutto can be reused if not soiled, with an extra set of soaker pads. Simply remove the wet soakers and snap in a new set. This makes for an economical option and a great space saver in the diaper bag. We do recommend airing the shell between uses, just as you would a cover. For fast turnaround in the laundry, extra soaker pads will enable you to have your diaper back on baby within a couple of hours of washing, as the shells dry much faster than the boosters.
